I saw your notice
about the Mississippi project. A couple years ago I published a very
long poem called "Forth of July", in three volumes. The third
vol., "July", is basically a literary/imaginary/historical
trip up & down the Mississippi. A couple sections of it (connected
with New Orleans) are published in the online magazine Jacket (http://jacketmagazine.com
- issue # 9). The entire poem is available in 2 volumes: Stubborn Grew
(http://www.spuytenduyvil.net)
and The Rose (http://www.xlibris.com/HenryGould.html).
"July" itself (also included in "The Rose") is available
in electronic format via the XLibris site.
This is probably not
exactly what you're looking for! But possibly these river poems might
come in handy for some related aspect of your project. Good luck with
it!
